trip to KS

I love this kid! He makes me laugh all the time (which makes up for the massive amounts of whining he's done lately). He likes to put on his sunglasses and say "awesome, dude!" And he calls us awesome dudes all the time. "Nice guy" is his other compliment. Yesterday I suggested we do a puzzle and he said "oh! Good idea, Mom!" :)

And my two favorite words to get him to say are yogurt ("yorgick") and hamburger ("hammerburger").

We made a trip down to Kansas this past weekend to surprise Grandma O on her 80th birthday. It was a blast! I always enjoy spending time with family. It was so fun to watch Liam and his 2nd cousin Isaac play. I got some cute pictures of the two of them posing for me :) We went walking in the woods surrounding Dave and Marlene's place in the evening--Liam said he liked hiking so maybe we'll have to take a little camping trip this summer! On the way back down the hill, Liam turned to Isaac and said "Isaac hold hand" so the two of them walked hand in hand back to the house. It was very very cute. Marlene gave the two of them a bath (and it looked like she got a bath, herself) and we could all hear the shrieks of laughter coming from the bathroom upstairs.
Liam surprised us all by sleeping through the night, however he went to bed at 9:30pm and got up at 6:45am. A little early for my liking! This made him a crab, but it also meant he slept most of the trip home. Saturday morning we cleaned Grandma's yard--picking up branches and cleaning up leaves and stuff. The great-grandkids enjoyed taking turns hauling stuff to the brush pile on the tractor. And it make me anxious to get home and work in my own yard!
